Dana Aussenberg
M.S. Ed.

Learning Specialist

Dana Aussenberg, M.S. Ed., is a Learning Specialist with a Master's Degree in Education and is a Certified School Counselor. Dana specializes in working with students on an individual basis, teaching executive functioning skills including organization, time manage and study strategies. 

 
 

Dana graduated from the University of Vermont and received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Hunter College. Dana has worked as a School Counselor counseling students ages 6th grade through 12th grade individually and in a small group setting with a focus on problem solving and relationship building. She then went on to work at a specialized high school in New York City as a College Counselor guiding 11th and 12th graders through the college application process, college essay revision and interview preparation.

For the past four years Dana has worked as a Student Advisor and then Program Coordinator for the CUNY Start program where she worked with first-semester college students creating and teaching a college skills preparatory curriculum. Dana also advised students on an individual basis helping students to develop problem solving, time management and communication skills through a collaborative inquiry-based approach.
